David Gericke
David Gericke was born in Mendoza, Argentina, in 1965.
Son of artists, he studied art from the age of 13 in his native province, graduating as a Master of Fine Arts. Bronze, iron, wood, ceramics, marble and alabaster are the materials he chooses.
During his time of study he was student of renowned artists of Mendoza, like Alfredo Ceverino, Antonio Sarelli and Roberto Rosas, among others.
After exhibiting his works in Buenos Aires, Santa Catarina , Sidney and New York, he decided to settle in Europe in 1992. After living for two years in Barcelona he settled in Cologne Germany in 1995.
There he works in his atelier and exhibits in several galleries of the City, as well as abroad: in Toyamura, Japan, Belgium, France and Italy. Various collectors and art galleries acquire his works from that moment on. He is also dedicated to the teaching of painting and sculpture in various schools, museums and privately, emphasizing a concept that integrates spirituality into aesthetics.
He moved 2014 to his studiohouse in Much, Bergisches Land, and works since 2018 in his studio in Bonn. In the cosmogony of Gericke's work stands a symbolic language that seeks and finds a way of expression which fuses the European and the Latin-American essence.
